My wife and I chose Bants as the overnight stop for in order to try our new cycles and enjoy a night away at the end of a busy week.

The distance from our home in Redditch was about right (12.6 miles) and we found a route that took us along country lanes and therefore kept us away from most traffic. The distance was just right to enable us to get there after work and arrive before darkness fell.

Bants is set in a small village in glorious Worcestershire countryside and we arrived at 7pm. Read less

Great welcome by Steve and loved the room (Laurel) which is apart from the inn.

The bar had a great choice of real ales and was very comfortable - we also had a dinner of the highest quality.

Dislikes:

Can't think of anything to criticize at all - we'll certainly return.

Very friendly staff and hosts with an excellent evening meal.

Dislikes:

room was a bit on small size, would prefer a bath.
However, I think we took the last room and these facilities would probably had been available had we booked earlier

"Attentive hosts"

The accommodation is well placed, with plenty of parking. The hosts and staff were most welcoming and the food was very good, the breakfast were made fresh to order with a very good choice to suit everyone. The room we stayed in was the "Laurel" a comfortable self contained room in an annexed building with everything you require. Read less

"Would have been excellent if pub had been open and there had been more guests!"

Were disappointed to find pub closed on arrival (2.30 pm)notice outside pub clearly stated open all day. Also strange that no one was there to greet us (phone call earlier to say key to room would be in door.)We had hoped to eat dinner that evening but pub remained closed so had to find alternative place to eat.
We asked for a sandwich at 2.00 one day and were told this was unavailable as they were just closing - still open 30 mins later! We were the only guests - made breakfast quite lonely. Read less

lack of customers meant that there was little atmosphere.

We did explain to you that we would not be here to greet you, and had you booked dinner when you booked the room i would have been here to cook for you.It was quite the begining part of the week when you was here just two other guests, we suffered from everone staying close to home to watch the olympics even London pubs and restaurants had complaints of. how quite the tourist trade was for those two weeks

Unfortunately, not enough peeople know about Bants because we were the only people left in the bar at 10pm on a Saturday night, which was a bit of a shame, we felt like we were keeping the barstaff up

The privacy of our accommodation which looked out over a really pretty garden and with sliding patio doors for access.
The friendliness of our welcome and the service in the restaurant and the bar.

Dislikes:

The only down-side was the lack of signal for our phones which made it impossible to communicate with our daughter. Also we tried to log on to the free resident wi-fi but were unable to.

Hi Stephen you went to a function on the area, we had a very busy Saturday night ask everone else that stayed and had locked up by 10.50
My husband explained that we may be closed when you arrived back you new this in advance because i emailed you, the whole place was not in darkness as we have to leave all entrance lights on for health and safety
You were also the only guests not to join us for breakfast, purely your choice as you pefered a lie in

Rooms were comfortable, food very good and we were able to relax. The chips produced at Bants are the 'best' we have ever tasted - crisp on the outside yet light and fluffy in the middle!
